The Pattern:
As many of you may know, the Peoples Army of Vietnam have gone through a number of camouflage changes in the past 20 years. Starting in 2007 the "K07" woodland pattern was fielded with color variants for all branches. In 2017 the pattern switched to "K17" which was a spot or blob type pattern. This was short lived as in 2019 the PAVN decided to adopt a new camouflage based on the drawings of the US "ERDL" pattern. Released in 2020 this pattern is referred to as "K20" and is the current issue camouflage of the PAVN.
BUT WAIT! Where does K18 come in? Glad you asked...
K18 was one of the multiple camouflage designs presented to The General Staff of the People's Army of Vietnam to be voted on to replace K17. It was not picked, nor were any of the designs that were presented, and instead K20 came to exist.
Until now K18 has only existed in pictures on the internet and likely in some military library or museum archive in Vietnam. Now you can own a piece of Vietnamese camouflage history with the first ever release of K18 to collectors all over the globe!
